1. General Policy

Sell Your Gadgets purchases pre-owned devices from consumers both in-store and through our mail-in program. Our Refund and Returns Policy is designed to protect our customers and comply with all applicable secondhand-goods regulations. Refunds and returns are limited due to the nature of used-device transactions and required legal holding periods.

2. 48-Hour Return & Dispute Window

Customers have up to 48 hours from the time a final offer is issued (or device delivery is confirmed for mail-in transactions) to request a review or return under the conditions listed below. After this period, the transaction is considered final and non-reversible.

  • Incorrect Valuation: If you believe your device was significantly undervalued after inspection, you may dispute the offer within 48 hours of notification. We will review the case and, if necessary, return the device at your expense.
  • Item Rejection: If a device is rejected for being counterfeit, blacklisted, stolen, or materially different from your submission, we’ll notify you and return the device. Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility.
  • Police / Law Enforcement Holds: All purchased items are subject to verification under state and local secondhand-dealer laws. In some jurisdictions, items are held for up to 10–15 days pending law enforcement clearance. No payments or returns will be released until the legal hold is complete.

3. Refunds

  • Overpayment or Error: In the event of an incorrect or duplicate payout, the excess amount must be returned or will be adjusted accordingly.
  • Service Cancellations: Refunds for optional paid services (like expedited shipping) are handled case-by-case depending on when the cancellation request is received.
  • Transaction Holds: Payments are only released once devices clear legal verification and hold requirements. Refunds cannot be processed until all applicable checks are completed.

4. Return / Refund Request Process

  2. Provide Details: Include your full name, contact information, transaction number, and reason for the request.
  3. Review & Verification: Our compliance team will review your case, confirm device ownership, and verify eligibility.
  4. Resolution: Approved returns or refunds are processed only after the mandatory police hold and verification period are complete.

5. Limitations & Exclusions

  • Requests made after the 48-hour window are not eligible for review.
  • Devices must remain in the same condition as received by us — no new damage or alteration.
  • Shipping, diagnostic, and administrative fees are non-refundable once used.
  • Sell Your Gadgets is not responsible for delays caused by carrier issues, payment processors, or pending law enforcement investigations.

6. Dispute Resolution

We’re committed to resolving issues promptly and fairly. Please contact our support team before filing any chargeback or external dispute. If we can’t resolve your concern informally, disputes will be handled per our User Agreement arbitration terms.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates take effect immediately upon posting with the revised “Last Updated” date. Continuing to use our Services after updates means you accept the new terms.
